Lighthouse Trolley’s, with cooperation from the Coastal Historic Society, the King & Prince Hotel, and several other local businesses, now offers hop-n-go shuttle services to agreed upon stops on a routine schedule 11:00 am to 11:00 pm daily throughout the season.
The trolley service begins this weekend. Look for it at various places around St. Simons Island.
Executive Director Jones Hooks and key management of the Jekyll Island Authority will be hosting a “Town Hall Meeting” of open dialogue with residents, business owners and interested parties to discuss operational issues and opportunities on Jekyll Island. Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, upstairs at McCormick’s Grill, Jekyll Island Golf Course.
Jekyll Island Town Hall Meetings are a regular forum of informal dialogue. There is no agenda in this Town Hall Meeting format, and attendees are welcome to drop in at any time during the gathering and join the discussion.

Sounds like a perfect Saturday ! This Saturday, May 22 from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, CJ’s Pizza (405 Mallery Street in the Village) is hosting “Proud Day” with the Humane Society. All day, there will be specials on food and beer, live music by Ben G, and if you bring in a donation of dog or cat food, you’ll get 15% off your meal! All the proceeds from Proud Day t-shirt sales will go to the Humane Society. And the Human Society will be there part of the day with information on adopting pets and a few animals. Come out and support your local pizza parlor and your local no-kill animal shelter!
Safe Harbor Children’s Center Auxiliary is busy preparing for the area’s newest family fun event: Coastal Georgia’s Got Talent. Modeled after the popular television show America’s Got Talent, the show will provide a venue for solo or group acts with talents of all types.
Coastal Georgia’s Got talent will be held on May 15, 2010 at 7:00pm in the Strickland Auditorium at Epworth-By-The-Sea, St. Simons Island, GA. In addition to formal judging, the audience will be part of the decision on who is Coastal Georgia’s top talent.
Tickets ($10) for Coastal Georgia’s Got talent are available at a variety of local retailers as well as at Safe Harbor Children’s center, 2215 Gloucester Street, Brunswick, GA.
